Improved, high-performance Shimano Deore XT hydraulic disc brakes with 4 pistons for downhill safety on enduro/trail and e-MTBs. The calipers feature excellent braking control and a simple connection system. The I-Spec EV compatible BL-M8100 brake levers are mounted at an angle, creating an additional contact point. This increases stiffness and provides more direct feedback. Additionally, Shimano Servo Wave technology enhances braking power: more performance is available with a shorter lever throw.

Technologies

Servo Wave
Shimano Servo-Wave technology optimizes the lever travel of your brake levers. During braking, the brake pads are quickly brought into contact with the brake disc with a very short lever movement. The majority of the lever travel remains dedicated to the actual braking force. This allows you to modulate your braking power more precisely and apply it more effectively.

I-Spec EV
I-Spec EV describes a variant of the connection between the brake lever and shifter on Shimano MTB drivetrains. This mounting method allows the shifter to be adjusted both horizontally and vertically relative to the brake lever, resulting in a cleaner cockpit by reducing the number of clamps required. Compared to I-Spec and I-Spec II, I-Spec EV offers a significantly larger adjustment range. 14 mm of longitudinal travel and up to 60° of rotation allow for optimal ergonomic adjustment to your riding style, seating position, and anatomy.

One-way ventilation
One Way Bleeding is a technology used on Shimano brake calipers that simplifies brake bleeding. The hose routing has been optimized so that no air bubbles remain in the caliper. In combination with the funnel, the brake can be bled cleanly and easily.
