Introduced for the first time with the XTR M9000, the SIDE SWING technology was naturally also donated to the new DEORE XT derailleurs. The 2-speed (FD-M8020) and 3-speed front derailleurs (FD-M8000) raise the gearshift performance to a whole new level with super-smooth, yet extremely powerful gear changes, even on modern bikes with long suspension travel. In addition to optimized tension control, which dramatically improves shifting efficiency, the new front derailleurs also feature optimized clearance for tires that allow manufacturers to design bikes with shorter chainstays for improved handling and maneuverability. The classic versions with high and low clamp position, D-Type and E-Type are available for mounting. In addition, the dual derailleurs as FD-M8025 are also available in a TOP SWING or DOWN SWING version.
