Two years after presenting the world's first electronic mountain bike shifting system, SHIMANO is now bringing this revolutionary technology to the DEORE XT level. Literally at the push of a button and on request with just one switch, the gears can now be changed in the upper middle class segment with extreme precision and speed. When the trail suddenly becomes steep on the trail, the DEORE XT drivetrain, thanks to the Di2 technology, reacts even faster and more intuitively to every driver's command, even when the hands are already hurting from the grip on the handlebars. A light touch is all it takes to switch to a more efficient gear. In conjunction with the Synchro-Shift technology, which automatically shifts the front derailleur depending on the desired ratio and also optimizes the chain skew, the optimum gear combination is always available, even when steep climbs, technically challenging descents and adrenaline-laden race passages in alternate fast sequence.

The SW-M8050 FIREBOLT switches have been specifically developed for a particularly simple operation and designed in a kind of twist grip design. Short operating paths with clearly defined single-click and multi-shift function ensure comfort, precision and minimum operating forces. The functions of the individual buttons of the FIREBOLT switch can be freely programmed, the switch itself can be adjusted many times in the mounting position, so that the fingers are always ideal for the buttons. This makes it faster and more intuitive than ever before.

Thanks to the synchro-shift function, a single switch is sufficient to control the rear derailleur and derailleur. The shift layout, which specifies the times of the automated gear changes on the derailleur, can be freely programmed. According to SHIMANO's Rhythm Step philosophy, each chainring change requires the minimum number of (automatic) equalization circuits, which helps maintain the efficient cadence. Without major leaps in gear, without undue strain on muscles and joints, simply pedal effortlessly and shift through the gait spectrum.

The switches work optimally together with the information display SC-MT800, the rear derailleur RD-M8050 and the derailleur FD-M8070. The information display not only provides clear and easy-to-read information about the currently selected gear and the state of charge of the battery, it is also the control center for the fine adjustment of trim settings and for the reset mechanism and transmitter and receiver unit for the wireless setting of Multi -Shift and Synchro-Shift function via smartphone and tablet.
